More About the Show
From Joe Belanger, London Free Press, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 about the show:

"Phillimore Busby, who died last year at the age of 92 - studied at the Ontario College of Art in the 1940s after serving in the Royal Canadian Naval Service. After the war, she married a British man, who came back to Canada with her where they worked as forest rangers for two summers before he left and returned to England. They had two daughters.

Phillimore Busby then went to work at the Royal Ontario Museum as a restorer while continuing to paint, influenced by artists such as Manet, Rousseau, Delacroix, Ingres, Michael Snow and Francis Bacon. She moved to London in 1998 when she married Stuart Busby, who died in 2007. She then returned to Toronto.

“She spent her working life as an art conservator, in fact being a leader in that profession and cofounder of the Canadian Conservation Institute. There is real passion in her work, not least her vivid palette and personal story-telling” said gallery co-owner Andrew Smyth.

Of Price, Smyth said the paintings include new landscapes, cityscapes and food. “His paintings will amaze you,” said Smyth.
